Quezon City, Philippines
The Sienna Net-Zero Home, developed by BillionBricks, has been named a nominee for the 2026 Building of the Year Awards by ArchDaily, placing a Philippine-designed housing model on one of architecture’s most influential global stages.

Now in its 17th year, the ArchDaily Building of the Year Awards recognize projects that resonate most strongly with the global architecture community. Unlike jury-led awards, the program is shaped entirely by public voting, reflecting what architects, designers, and built-environment professionals worldwide consider most relevant today.
The Sienna Net-Zero Home is shortlisted under the Houses category, where it stands out for its integration of solar technology, climate-responsive design, and affordability-focused construction. Designed for tropical conditions and scalable deployment, the home addresses both carbon reduction and long-term household resilience.
“This nomination is meaningful not because of prestige alone, but because it validates a different way of thinking about housing,” said Prasoon Kumar, Co-founder and CEO of BillionBricks. “Sienna was designed as a system that balances climate performance, buildability, and cost. Being recognized by a global community tells us these priorities matter beyond our local context.”
The awards follow a two-stage public voting process. The nomination round runs from January 27 to February 10, 2026, determining the finalists. Final category winners will be announced on February 19, 2026.
